I made Rapunzel for my first group cosplay experience at MegaCon 2015. I teamed up with several talented cosplayers to make a fun Disney princess group. While we weren’t able to collect the whole lineup, it was my first group cosplay and an experience I’ll never forget.

This was made almost ten years before the time I really got into documenting my work, so the progress pictures are far and few between. My memory is fuzzy from back then, but there are key areas I distinctly remember:

I made the design on the skirt by grabbing stills from the movie, tracing bits of the design on paper, and transferring it to the skirt panels using fabric paint and hand-embroidery.

Making the wig won me the opportunity to have a professional photoshoot with my finished cosplay, marking the first professional cosplay shoot I ever had! Thank you Arda-Wigs!
